Garlic Cilantro Steak Sauce

Are you a steak purist or do you like to have a topping/sauce of some sort on top of your steaks? I’m definitely in the latter category…I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a steak just plain. I always need some sort of topping on it or something to dip it into. Yessss, I totally used to be guilty of slathering it in A1! Sorry for all you purists out there. But if you ARE like me, you’re going to love this simple, healthy and summery tasting Garlic Cilantro oil to spoon over your grilled steak!

This Garlic Cilantro oil is very strong & fresh tasting, which means you really don’t need much of it at all to make a real impact and impart a ton of flavor to your steak! The red wine vinegar in it makes it super tangy and so it cuts through the richness of the beef and makes for a really light tasting meal. Plus, did I mention that it seriously tastes like summerrrr?! And while I know it’s only just the beginning of Spring, I just can’t help myself! I just want all of my meals to be grilled & remind me of warm weather haha.

This is one of those meals that just taste so indulgent that you’d never think it could still be considered healthy, but it isssss! And while I don’t eat red meat very often, it is definitely NOT bad for you. I think it tends to get a bad rap sometimes, but I really enjoy it, and it definitely does feel like a treat to have, right?! So don’t feel like just because you’re eating a steak, it’s not still good for you. Just be sure to find a leaner cut to enjoy. I tend to always go for Sirloin steaks; they’re relatively cheaper than other cuts and are much leaner than other cuts as well. I get the big package of them from Costco and cut them down to a perfect 21 Day Fix friendly serving size. You should be getting about 4 oz of steak…trust me, it might SOUND small since restaurants tend to give much bigger servings, but it really is the perfect amount!

I served my steak with some simple mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus with a little bit of Parmesan cheese baked on top of it and then, of course, this Garlic Cilantro Oil! The whole meal counted as 1 red (4 oz steak), 1 tsp (Garlic Cilantro Oil), 1 yellow (mashed potatoes), 1 green (asparagus) and a small amount of my blue container, all depends on how much Parmesan cheese you use!

Garlic Cilantro Steak Sauce

A healthy, clean, Paleo & 21 Day Fix friendly steak sauce alternative!

  • 2/3 cup cilantro
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 2 Tbs red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbs olive oil


  1. Blend all ingredients together. Refrigerate until needed. Top grilled steaks!
